How should I customize a new laptop?

It entirely depends on what you will be using it for. If you will be surfing the web, word processing (work or works) and going on facebook and youtube, then this computer is plenty. If you are looking to play games you might want to upgrade your video card, but that entirely would depend on what games you want to play. And by games I don't mean the ones that come on the computer or the ones you buy at Walmart for 10 bucks, I mean games like HAWKS or Modern Warfare 2. If you don't plan on doing anything more than that you should be fine.
