What are some good novels for teens?

i'm a 13 year old girl and i have to do a summer reading project. The ignment is to read a novel you have never read before. so i just want some opinions on good (preferably a romantic) novel you have read and enjoyed. i have about the attention span of a skittle so it needs to be interesting but appropriate for the 7th grade. (:
