Why should we bother voting for our next President if the Electoral College...?

Since it's winner-take-all with the states, that scenario is likely to happen yet again. I think it's just an antiquated system that should be eliminated. My state, California, has over 38 million people, and is, in population, the equivalent of 74 Wyomings. All 55 electoral votes will go to the winner of our state, even if the winner wins by only a few votes. Remember, the candidate with 270 electoral votes is our next president. I still think we should eliminate the electoral college and just count the popular vote.
