I Quit Staples And I Didnt Get My First Check. Just my check for the last week i worked there. Is This Right?

I asked my managers when will i get my first check because i was told i would get my first check when i quit. And they said we dont hold your first check. I Never got my first check. I Think They Are Mistaken Or Trying To Rip Me Off Because An Employee Who Has Been Working There For A Long Time Said Yeah You Get Your First Check When You Leave. Does Anyone Know If Staples Companys Hold Your First Check? Or What I Should Do About This? Their Is A Number I Can Call Human Resources And I Think They Can Help Me Figure Out The Truth I Will Try On Monday. But Does Someone Who Worked Their Or Someone Who Knows About These Thinngs Confirm If Its True They Dont Hold Your First Check?
